The Rexnord Omega and Rexnord Viva are both non-lubricated, material-flexing, split-in-half elastomeric tyre couplings designed to protect connected equipment from vibration and misalignment. While the Viva is based on the proven design of the Omega, it features upgrades for higher torque density and increased spacing adjustability. 

Rexnord Omega Series

The Omega is recognized as the industry benchmark for split-in-half tyre couplings. 

  • Material Options: Available in standard Orange, Heavy Duty Yellow (HDY) for 25% more torque, and Hydrolytically Stable Green (HSU) for hot/humid environments.

  • Easy Maintenance: The split-half element allows for replacement without moving hubs or realigning equipment.

  • Application: Widely used in pumps, compressors, industrial fans, and mixers.

  • Configurations: Offered in Close Coupled (E) and Spacer (ES) designs.

Rexnord Viva Series

The Viva is an evolution of the Omega, designed to deliver more power in a smaller package. 

  • Torque Density: Specifically formulated polyurethane allows for greater torque transmission with a smaller coupling size.

  • Adjustability: Features two rows of radial holes on hubs, providing more field spacing adjustability than the Omega.

  • Overload Protection: Includes a "V" notch design in the flex element that channels stress to provide a uniform centerline tear during severe overloads.

  • Global Design: Primarily a metric design intended for global users.

Rexnord Omega

The Rexnord Omega coupling is a non-lubricated, elastomeric "split-in-half" tyre coupling designed for easy installation and maintenance in industrial applications. Its unique design allows the flex element to be replaced without removing the hubs or realigning the connected equipment.

The Rexnord Viva is a line of non-lubricated, material-flexing elastomeric tire couplings designed for high torque transmission in a compact size. They are an evolution of the Rexnord Omega series, offering superior torque density and vibration damping. 

Key Features

  • Split-in-Half Design: Allows for quick replacement of the flexible element without moving hubs or realigning connected equipment.

  • Torque Density: Specially formulated polyurethane provides higher torque capacity than standard rubber couplings, allowing for a smaller coupling footprint.

  • Overload Protection: Features a patented "V" notch design that provides a uniform failure area, acting as a "mechanical fuse" during severe overloads to protect expensive machinery.

  • Low Maintenance: Requires no lubrication and allows for visual inspection during operation.

  • High Misalignment Capacity: Effectively cushions shock loads and accommodates shaft misalignment with low reactionary forces. 

Available Versions

  • V (Close-Coupled): For applications where shaft ends are close together, up to 132 mm.

  • VS (Spacer): Ideal for applications requiring specific distances between shaft ends (DBSE), such as pump maintenance.

  • VSX (Extended Spacer): Connects shafts with gaps up to 300 mm without needing special hubs.
