HRC Coupling consists of 2 Cast Iron halves, each attached to the shaft by means of taper-lock bushing which allows for quick and easy assembly.
An elastic "spider" between them absorbs shock loads and a small degree of shaft misalignment. Coupling alignment can be as simple as running a straight edge over the outer diameters, although modern laser techniques will achieve better results.
